Hi Rebecca! Great to hear from you! The Plaquenil, along with Methotrexate, will help keep your joints from destructing. Doesn't mean no pain, but does mean there is less destruction and less misshapen joints. Yes, there are some side-effects - elevated liver enzymes and possible visual changes. The risks of visual changes are pretty low. Elevated liver enzymes can be detected by regular blood work. Really consider taking the Plaquenil, and, if prescribed, the Methotrexate. Some days are better than others. Hope you continue to manage well! Prayers going up for you!
Love in Christ,
Elizabeth

How excited was I, Elizabeth when I saw your name on RA Guy's blog today!! I said to myself, Hey I know her!! LOL

I am also "supposed" to be taking plaquinel as well but for a year now, I have just resisted. But now my pain is so great and constant that I think I probably should bite the bullet and just do it.

I liked reading your RA profile.

Thank you very much, Elizabeth. I'm amazed that, as little as we saw of him or even heard from him, and the antipathy between my husband and him, how full my heart is. He was beloved of his mother and father, even though his siblings found him hard to deal with. Bless his heart, he was a lost soul. I pray that God will give him a place in the Kingdom.

Oh, Elizabeth. I'm so sorry about this, and to discover the damage just at bedtime, too!! At least you are both unhurt, AND you have a great son and dil NEXT DOOR who dropped everything and came to help immediately. "This, too, shall pass," but I know it's hard. {{{HUGS}}}

Why is it, I ask myself, that I laugh when people tell good stories with unexpected endings, or when they crack witty comments spontaneously and unplanned; but when they write down lists of 'funny ha-ha' sentences, collected endlessly, almost professionally, printed out and passed round, or submitted to 'funny ha, ha' websites, I just yawn, or even worse... I know it's my fault.
